Reading: Killing Lincoln

Once in a while I like to share a book I’m reading if I think some of you guys might like it. For the really good books, the ones I strongly recommend you read, I have a page on this blog you can check out.

Also, I’m always interested to hear what people are reading, so please share in the comments if you have a recommendation. For instance, @atlantajones recently shared with me that he’s read, Walt Disney by Neal Gabler, three times. That’s a great recommendation and I’ve already downloaded the free Kindle preview (arguably my favorite aspect of digital books, the ability to download previews to see if you’ll like it. Saved me from many books I never would have read all the way through).

I’m 2/3 of the way through Killing Lincoln by O’Reilly and Dugard. What I like most about it is that its written almost like a novel, though based on facts obviously. So its a quick read and keeps you involved in the story. Being a big fan of Lincoln, one of my goals is to read several books about him in 2012 and this is a great one to start with.

Not sure I could read anything by Bill O’Reilly, just on general principal. Lincoln is someone I’d definitely like to know more about, though. I heard he was also a vampire hunter :)

Btw, I’m of the exact same mind on O’Reilly. But I’m pushing through ;)

Yes, the Vampire Lincoln book is great.

I’m about 1/2 way through;  style is interesting and lots of things I didn’t know.   Martin Dugard is a crack researcher and they are collaborating on another book.  He did a book with James Patterson (my ex JWT creative chief) on the murder of King Tut that is similar.  Examines all the research and info and crafts a story.
